Ceylon Kingsmen Garden - Katunayake

About 15 min from the airport, was comfortable for us as we had early morning flight. Rooms are nice new bathroom.

We had a very bad experience at this hotel. The staff does not speak good English, which makes communication difficult. The room was dirty, dark, and felt unfinished and poorly maintained.We are a family of four with two children aged 3 and 5. When we went to breakfast, only two plates were served, so we assumed they were for another guest. We waited around 10 minutes before anyone even came to our table. When staff finally showed up, they told us that breakfast is not provided for children, even though we booked and paid for a room with breakfast included.They claimed they have a policy not to give breakfast to children under 5 despite the fact that our older daughter is 5 years old. This was never mentioned during booking. The breakfast itself was poor, cold, and served on a very dirty table.Not giving breakfast to children is something we have never experienced anywhere, and we travel a lot as a family. This place is absolutely not family friendly.Avoid this hotel, there are many better options nearby.

I expected for this price to atleast have a clean stay however the expectation came in short. The whole place is nested with mosquitoes making it impossible to walk outside. Yes there is a lot of greenary but its not maintained and staff seem to be puzzled everytime you ask questions.

What a lovely hotel with an amazing and interesting butterfly garden. It was so peaceful for our last night in sri lanka. The garden was lovely to walk round. The swimming pool was also great. Tje staff were very friendly and helpful.

Only small thing we would suggest is to turn the outside lights off at night as they were just outside the room windows and made room quite bright all night. Otherwise we loved everything else and this wouldn't put us off staying again.

Room was very comfortable and well cleaned when we arrived. They were very accommodating in our request for a clean room free of insects.Staff were very helpful. The room was on first floor and since there was no elevator, they carried our luggage for us.The air conditioning worked well and so did the mini fridge. They restocked the tea/coffee, water etc and there was a kettle to get hot water. The showers had hot water without any issue and towels etc were very clean.The hotel is situated in close proximity to a butterfly park so you feel immersed in nature.Delicious food via room service with generous portions.

Our stay was generally very good and I wouldn't complain. Would definitely stay here again.However there were these few points that I didn't like: Though the rooms were clean, our room came with a balcony (mentioned in the booking) which was not clean. The balcony was full of cobwebs and looked unused. Maybe it was because there was construction going on outside near our rooms. Since our rooms were clean and spotless, we let it pass but we really wish the balcony was usable, since it was one of the reasons we picked this particular room & hotel. There were some construction noise during the morning/afternoon hours and it was very disturbing. It also brought in fine dust to the rooms. So if you plan on staying for more than a day or two, highly recommend you ask for room cleaning every two or three days - especially if you are sensitive to dust or have dust allergies. It maybe helpful if the hotel also offered to clean occupied rooms every day without waiting for customer to request it. Room service took a long time to deliver food both times we ordered. We called about 40 mins to 1 hour after we ordered and then the food only arrived after an additional 30 minutes wait. Maybe it's a good idea to inform them ahead of time when you order food because it seems like they need some time to prepare - and call and check on it periodically.The food is worth the wait though - very delicious but if you're very hungry and need something asap, maybe not the best idea.Location is close to Negombo main road by car where you can find a lot of cafes, restaurents and supermarkets etc. but there aren't very many restaurants/supermarkets in immediate vicinity of the hotel... so keep that in mind when you make your plans.

Rooms are clean and ready. The garden was amazing and scenic. Overall a good experience.

WiFi strength was very weak and at times not available.

Great service they provide. We had a warm welcome by the staff. The location is great , quite and peacefull. They also provide delicious foods. Definitely visit again. Highly Recommended.

Place is very clamful and nature loving place. It is good place to stay with family. Room surrounding is completely full In garden. It has various tress, plants, flowers and butterflies. In side garden has lot of place to take photos. If your going with childrens it has playing items. Room facilities are really good, no bad smells.Bathroom all facilities are functioning.Finally I want to say future this place become like Kandalama.....

We plan to get pool experience but it is under construction. I think in future it will really good pool. I am waiting to get that experience...

The butterfly garden was amazing. The bathroom was well insulated from bugs.The bed was comfortable.

It was far from the town

Around 15-20 mins from the airport, the property is located inside a lovely garden that houses a butterfly park and an orchid house, among other things. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. Pasindu at the front desk was particularly helpful.

They seemed a little understaffed while we were there, and there aren't a lot of restaurant options in the area. Our room didn't have any windows - it had a door that led to a tiny balcony.

Thank you Mr. Saman for making our stay wonderful! The room was perfect, with AC, a spacious desk, good internet for calls, and great room design. Mr. Saman and the staff are very kind people, hardworking, and dedicated to hospitality. They made our stay before flying to our next destination amazing. Mr. Saman also arranged a late night tuktuk for a more than honest price. We can’t wait to come back to Sri Lanka and enjoy our first nights in the country at Ceylon Kingsmen. As part of your booking, you can also access their butterfly garden filled with different types of flowers and plants. For the people complaining that you hear airplanes, you are 10 minutes away from the airport, so it’s only natural that you will hear a few airplanes taking off. However, the sound is muffled mostly in the room, so it shouldn’t be a problem at all.

Rooms are beautiful clean and new

Little sounds from the aircraft middle of the night .we hope management will do against the bad sound.

Clean comfortable modern room. We only stayed one night after flying in so arrived late and left early. Good place to stay close enough to airport.

The room we booked wasnt available,we booked a room with 2 double beds, so we got a room with one double bed which was supposed to be king-size but was a standard double, not a huge issue but we like our space

Saman was lovely and took care of our every need. Loved the location - very close to the airport and in the middle of a butterfly garden. Highly recommend.

We stayed here in a pinch as a way to have a home base prior to a late flight, only for a couple of hours. Everything worked in perfect condition and was very clean.

It's a little farther out of the way, but it is definitely worth it for the price.

The hotel was quite nice. The garden is huge and it feels like being in a huge botanical garden. The staff was very friendly and it was very close to the airport.

When we were there, we were the only people and it felt a bit too quiet and abandoned. I don't recommend eating there. It was not very tasteful and we both got very upset stomachs after having dinner and breakfast there.

Very calm place to relax+ Eco friendly. Staff is so friendly and supportive. Excellent architectural design and the unique butterfly garden adds more value and makes your experience unforgettable.
